The Student Matinee Project brings students from all over Vermont and Northern New England to experience live theatre in a intimate setting (under 300 seats).
Performances are from our main stage season and can include everything from contemporary comedy and drama to musicals and the classics.

Our 2008-2009 season will include two productions in the fall when we present Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl and the musical Cabaret book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Fred Ebb and music by John Kander. In the spring we will be performing The Seagull by Anton Chekhov.

Dates for the 2008-09 Student Matinee Project are:
Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl ~ October ~10/7 & 10/9
CABARET by Masteroff, Ebb and Kander ~November ~ 11/11 & 11/14
The Seagull by Anton Chekhov ~February ~ 2/24 & 2/27

Past performances include, The Crucible, Metamorphoses, Remember the Children:Terezin, The Art of Dining, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Antigone, Rumors, Hair (The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical) and Macbeth.

If your school would like to added to our mailing list please click here and fill out the information needed. Letters for upcoming seasons are normally sent by mid-May to aid in budgeting and scheduling but general information on our upcoming seasons is available here on the web site as early as March.

All tickets are $8.00 General Admission. For school groups of 10 or more you will receive free chaperone tickets (up to 5 per group)

Payment must be made in full 2 weeks before the performance. Any unpaid reservations will then be opened up to a wait list.

Productions for The UVM Department Theatre are paid for by ticket sales and contributions. All tickets sales are final. As a general rule we do not cancel a performance due to weather unless the University closes the campus.
